What happens if/when you get snowed in? Besides a Netflix membership, there are a few other necessities that can make a day stuck in the house a day not wasted.
One of the most important things to make sure of is the status of your power. If you don’t have that, you could freeze! It’s a good idea to invest in a miniature gas-powered fireplace. They’re the perfect way to heat a room, and some are even vent-less and require no installation! Click here to view different types of gas fireplaces.
Here are a few other things that may come in handy:
Flashlight, candles, and extra batteries – You’ll need several sources of light if your power happens to go out and you need to see anyone and anything!
Shovel – A shovel will come in handy when the snow stops and you need to dig your way back to civilization!
Non-perishable food items – It’s always a good idea to have a little food storage. You don’t know how long you’ll be stuck in the snow, and it can be a little tricky to have pizza delivered. While you’re at it, make sure you have a manual can opener to open the Chef Boyardee!
Coats, gloves, scarves, and mittens – Whether you’re stuck in the house or the car, wearing layers will help ward off the frostbite!
Games – Games are an absolute necessity. Both children and adults can get bored, and card games and board games can help pass the time.
First Aid Kit – This one’s a no-brainer.
Battery-operated radio – This can come in handy to stay in contact with the outside world. If you can get your hands on one, you should also have a home-phone with a cord! Remember phone cords? If your electricity is still on, you’ll be able to call friends and family and update them periodically.
Have you ever been snowed in? Is there something you can’t go without?
