diy garden markers

I love spring, and one of the best things about it is getting a garden into shape! If you’ve got plans for a vegetable garden, this is the perfect little project to add a finishing touch after all of the prepping and planting. These super cool typography garden markers will help you keep track of all of your veggies and add a little street cred to your backyard.

To put them together, you’ll need some smooth rocks that are about 3-4 inches wide, a computer and printer, and some Silhouette Temporary Tattoo Paper. Start by printing out this free download onto the glossy side of your tattoo paper, and follow the instructions on the packaging to finish off the tattoos. (Yes, the words are supposed to be backwards—that way they’ll come out correctly on the rocks!)

Once your tattoos are prepped, cut them out, take off the clear sheet on the tattoo, and place it face down on a clean, dry rock. Dampen a rag and hold it over the tattoo for about 20 seconds, and then carefully peel off the paper so that the word remains on the rock.

Repeat the process on a different rock for each veggie you have planted, and set them in your garden! Without being scratched or rubbed off, these should last for a couple of months. If you find that your tattoos start to wear off, simply rub off the remainder and redo the process. Have fun, and happy planting!
