Join me and let’s neighbor up for Small Business Saturday on November 24. Show your neighborhood pride and get out there to meet some of the movers, shakers, and makers on your own main street. Hit the streets Saturday November 24 and get to know the smiling faces that keep our neighborhoods humming, lively, and full of fun. Small Business Saturday is all about supporting the folks that bring life to our neighborhoods.
What’s not to love about supporting the people that live right next door? It is no secret that small business owners pour our heart, soul and passion into what we do. We burn the midnight oil, crunch the numbers and keep on keepin’ on because we love the relationships we establish with our neighborhoods. In short, we love your smiling faces! This holiday season, make a statement and support independent businesses with your patronage and spirit.
Meet Giselle Gyalzen, part owner of Rare Device, San Francisco’s cherished brick and mortar store. Rare Device is a true SF gem and represents everything we love about supporting small business.
Giselle and her husband Phurba met in San Francisco 2001 via their shared love of being surrounding by beautiful things. Together they bring their love of family, refined independent design, and gorgeous aesthetic to the masses at Rare Device. The Gyalzen’s bought the shop in February of 2011, shortly moved the store to its current NOPA location and became an instant fixture and source of design lust in the neighborhood. A true family business, Gyalzen and Phurba are often on hand with their dog Rooney and darling babe Ophelia welcoming design devotees. Carrying a perfectly curated collection of gifts, jewelry, home goods, the best in kidcentirc design, and books, Rare Device truly represents the vibe that is San Francisco. And isn’t that what it’s all about?
I’ll be paying a visit to Giselle and Phurba Saturday November 24 and to rally my friends and neighbors, I liked the Small Business Saturday Facebook page where you can find tips and downloads to help spread the word. Join in and visit your favorite local haunt. Introduce yourself and get to know the inspiring story behind your neighborhood business.
Where will you be heading?
