This week’s printable download is the perfect addition to your neighborhood—it’s your favorite neighborhood café! Does anyone else feel a little stir crazy right about now? The holidays are over, the decorations are packed away, and yet for lots of us it’s still snowy and cold and dreary outside. It’s especially rough in my neighborhood in the northern Midwest, where spring really doesn’t arrive reliably until May. Just knowing we have that much time left makes me squirrelly.
What’s the first thing to do when cabin fever hits? Well, for lots of us the best plan is to get the heck out of our house! The problem is finding a valid excuse for leaving home, and a worthwhile destination. Because I work from home, sometimes combining those two things together gets rough. I need to get my work done, but there are days when getting that work done at home—again—gets old. There is something invigorating and productive about going somewhere else to do your work.
That’s when a coffee shop or a café is the perfect solution. Remember when cafés were just a place to eat? It seems wherever I go now, there are always a couple of people camped out at a table covered with paperwork, laptop, half-eaten food and a good drink. If they have a sign up that says free Wi-Fi, you can bet people will be using it! Hmm, in fact, I think I’m going to pack up and head to one of my favorite cafés right now.
Printable House Instructions:
- Download and print.
- Cut out your cafe along its edges.
- Fold all of the creases before getting out the glue.
- Then, with a glue stick, glue a couple tabs at a time, assembling as you go. Start at the inside corner of the building and work towards the final side tab.
- Cut and glue the front awning separately, then attach to the cafe by lining the edges up with the dotted lines.
